![]() Dr. Stanley Knoll Dr. Stanley Knoll, a board certified general surgeon, is the senior partner in Surgical Associates, first established in 1952. Dr. Knoll graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964 and from the Chicago Medical School with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1968. He continued his surgical training as Intern, Resident, and Chief Resident in Surgery at the George Washington University Medical Center from 1968 to 1974. After serving two years in the United States Army, Dr. Knoll joined the surgical practice he heads today. In addition to conducting his full-time practice of surgery, Dr. Knoll is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center and the Georgetown University Medical Center. His involvement in the education and training of surgical residents and medical students provides the stimulus for Dr. Knoll's scientific publications, and for his frequent lectures on topics of special interest, such as thyroid disease, breast cancer, laparoscopic surgery, hernia repair, and the many abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures encountered in the field of general surgery.
